Daily Report -sixth day (6/10/09)

Today is the final touch after we move on to the technical report...We test again the circuit to make sure it running correctly according to the circuit given..We also measure again the voltage of every point that connect to ground...

Daily Report -fifth day (5/10/09)

Today we construct again the circuit with changing the resistor value of R2 with 1M ohm...Then the value of voltage diode, LDR, Led, pin5, pin7, pin3 and pin2 are record after the circuit work...We can see the changing of wave after LED is ON and the wave back to normal when Led is OFF..

Then we move the circuit on copper board and solder it...After solder the component on board we test it again to make sure it work properly...

Daily Report -fouth day (2/10/09)

Today we construct the circuit again in lab after make a few modification ....The result at the end is the LED will on after LDR is cover around 30 seconds and then become 0ff a few seconds after that..

Daily Report -third day (1/10/09)

Today me make some modification on circuit using Tina software before construct it again in lab....

Daily Report - 2nd day (30/09/09) ╮(╯▽╰)╭

30/09/09 Wednesday ( Sunny day )

In the early morning, we went to the 2nd year lab to take our electronic components.
Without wasting no time, we tried to measure the resistors, diodes and capacitor with LCR meter and wrote down the measurements.
Then, we tried to think how to connect the components in the board.
We thought of many variations that we can do in the circuit design so that we can modify the result and try to observe what the relationship between the changes and the output. These include the variation of magnitude of capacitor, resistors, type of diode, position of components .......

After we attended our lectures, we quickly started our experiment in the lab and try do it on the breadboard given. We tried to compares the measured result with the simulated one. But there was still some problems occur during the experiment. So, we have to continue our circuit tomorrow....... hopefully that out circuit can be done on time LOL......

Daily report- 1st day (29/09/09) >_< ~~

29/9/09

1st day (29/09/09) Tuesday ( RAINY/// day)

Today it was a harsh day for us( Tan Yong Tat and Suziyana). Without any idea on what should we do on the circuit and being exposed to new electronic components such as IC timer 555, Relay, etc. , we have to search a lot of information about the related components and circuit. We gone through of a lot of information and idea about the real-life applications of the circuit and how to implements it. We .....

wow...lot things to do within just a several days. We try to simulate out the circuit in TINA, circuit maker 2000, Multisim and B2spice. Finally, we came out with a decision to use TINA in this simulation of circuit.

Today, the main task of the day is the main objectives and subjectives of the circuit design. Certainly, every design is came out from a problem and we need to state a problem that inspires us to design the circuit and implement it in real-life.

light sensitive trigger circuit

KKKL 2092 – Electrical and Electronics Laboratory I
Mini Project – (4) Light Sensitive Trigger

Problem Statement:

We usually meet with the problem where we want to switch on or off certain electronic devices when the light intensity is changes, such as the outside lighting on driveways, security system, counters, night lamp, etc. We need something that will controls the electronic devices smartly by varying the light intensity, thus a light-sensitive trigger circuit is required which required a light-dependent source as the input of the circuit that will varies certain parameters in the circuit and thus the timer IC 555 will act as a switch to control the output ( electronic devices ).

Main Objectives :
To build a light-sensitive trigger circuit that can be implemented in real world applications.

Sub-objectives :
i) To learn the function of Timer IC 555 as a monostable multivibrator in switching the output to high stable state.
ii) To learn the function of each components in the circuit design in varying the result of the output of the circuit.
iii) To learn how to ease the circuit building by using circuit simulation software.
iv) To learn how the values of the resistor and capacitor connecting with the timer IC 555 can change the time period of the unstable state of output.
